Find a suitable person for an open shift
Kelomo suggests employees for shifts based on your configured rules, availability and skills. You can see the reasons and review the allocation before using it.
- Help with planning the whole period Automatic planning reduces the need to allocate shifts one person at a time. If no suitable employee is found, the unfilled need stays visible.
- Cover for an absence Shifts left open by an absence appear in the same planning view. Find a replacement or open the shift for employees to apply.
A rotation makes the next roster easier
Shift templates and multi-week rotations give the next roster a starting point. Teams can begin at different points in the rotation, and you can adapt drafts to the period’s needs.
Include employees in the planning
Employees submit availability and preferences and apply for open shifts. Follow how night, weekend and public-holiday shifts are distributed and how preferences are met over time.
The published roster reaches employees
Publish the roster immediately or schedule it for a chosen time. Shifts and changes appear in the employee’s app, with messages kept in each shift’s conversation. You can also ask employees to acknowledge their shifts.
Open the roster as it stood on a chosen date and review the reasons for later changes. Published shifts also provide a starting point for time entry and, after approval, payroll data.
Shift planning questions
Can employees swap shifts with each other?
Yes. Employees can propose a swap for their manager to approve. The agreed change is then reflected in the shared roster.
Does Kelomo support on-call planning?
Yes. On-call periods are planned separately and call-out work is recorded as working time. Compensation handling is configured according to your workplace rules.
Do the checks guarantee a legally compliant roster?
No. The checks rely on the rules configured in Kelomo. These must reflect the terms that apply at your workplace. The conditions for changing a published roster must also be assessed separately; recording a reason alone is not enough.
