Project finances and profitability

A good margin takes more than a good quote

The workload changes, the customer asks for more and a subcontractor sends an invoice. Kelomo shows what this means for the project while you can still act on it.

Sales, projects and billing add-on · €9/user/month

Project hour and euro budgets, accumulated costs and margin

Hourly work and fixed prices need different comparisons

Hourly work builds up billable value

Confirmed hours receive a sales price and a cost price. Work that is not billed to the customer still adds to costs. Travel, expenses and approved purchases complete the picture.

At a fixed price, extra hours reduce the margin

The margin compares the agreed price with costs incurred so far. Approved additional work and separately billable expenses are included. Hour and euro budgets help you follow the plan.

Agreed project price, payment milestones and additional work

Keep agreed work and additional work distinct

A budget to measure work against

Hour and euro budgets for the project and its phases show what you planned for. Unpriced hours are flagged so they are not overlooked in cost comparisons.

Agreed charges for additional work

Additional work and changes are approved separately. Materials and subcontracting can have their own onward billing prices.

Billable work stays visible

Billed work, amounts reserved in invoice drafts and currently billable material are shown separately. A payment milestone can become billable when the associated milestone is completed.

Good to know

Does a new price list change earlier work?

Prices have effective periods. Earlier work retains the calculation basis that applied when it was done.

Who can see project costs and margin?

The project owner and other users with the required permissions. Costs are not automatically shared with everyone working on the project.
