Kelomo can be connected to the AI assistant you already use: Claude, ChatGPT or another service that supports the MCP standard. After that you can ask the assistant about your leave balance, your flex balance or who is working today, and have it log a working day, request leave or draw up a travel claim. The assistant sees what you see. It saves working time, travel claims and expenses as drafts that you confirm in Kelomo, and does everything else the way you would in Kelomo.
The instructions and Kelomo’s address are in your own settings on the AI assistant tab. The same address works for every assistant.
Claude
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Paste the address into the field and choose Add.
- Choose Connect next to Kelomo. Sign in to Kelomo, pick the organisation and approve the connection with Approve and connect.
- In a new conversation, enable Kelomo under Connectors in the plus menu.
On Team and Enterprise plans the organisation’s owner adds Kelomo first under Organization settings → Connectors. After that everyone connects their own account with the Connect button.
ChatGPT
- Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT’s settings. In Business and Enterprise workspaces an admin must first allow custom MCP connectors in the workspace settings.
- Add a new connector. Name it Kelomo, paste the address and choose OAuth as the authentication.
- Sign in to Kelomo in the window that opens and approve the connection.
- In a new conversation, enable Kelomo from the connectors menu.
Custom connectors work on ChatGPT’s paid plans.
Other assistants and tools
Microsoft Copilot Studio, Cursor, Claude Code and other tools that support the MCP standard connect with the same address: add it as an MCP server and choose OAuth as the authentication. A tool that cannot sign in uses a personal API key, which you create on the My API keys tab. The details are in the developer portal’s MCP guide.
What the assistant does
- Answers with Kelomo’s data: working time, balances, absences, shifts, the team’s presence and, for a supervisor, the approval queue. Depending on your organisation’s modules, also sales, projects, invoices and field service.
- Records a draft. Once you have given every detail, the assistant saves the day’s hours, a travel claim or an expense straight as a draft. If it has to infer something, it shows a preview first. A wrong trip or expense is removed when you ask. You confirm drafts in Kelomo.
- Asks for your confirmation before it replaces a day’s entries or sends an absence request. An absence request goes to your supervisor for approval as usual.
- Creates work that someone handles in Kelomo: a project task, an entry link, a lead, an activity, a work request or a field-service work order waiting to be scheduled. A project’s owner can also lock a phase against new entries.
- Handles approvals at a supervisor’s request: one request at a time or several work weeks in one decision. An approval is a decision the assistant cannot undo. For a rejection the assistant asks for a reason, which goes to the requester.
Punching and sending invoices are always done in Kelomo. Development discussions, occupational health and safety data, whistleblowing reports, personal identity codes and bank details are handled only in Kelomo, and the assistant cannot reach them.
Permissions and disconnecting
The assistant gets the permissions listed on the approval screen, and never more than you have yourself. If the assistant asks for more, the screen says so before you approve.
Connected assistants are listed on the AI assistant tab under Connected apps: the app’s name, its permissions and when it was last used. Disconnect ends the connection immediately. Changing your password ends all of your account’s connections at once. An admin sees every connection in the organisation under Settings → Integrations → API keys and apps and can end any of them, for example when an employment ends. Actions taken through the assistant appear in the event log in the same way as actions taken in the app.
An admin can also switch the whole feature off under Settings → Organisation → Features → AI assistants. The tab then disappears from personal settings, new connections cannot be opened and the assistants already connected are disconnected immediately.
If something goes wrong
The assistant cannot find Kelomo in the conversation. Enable the connector in that conversation (in Claude, under Connectors in the plus menu). A new conversation does not inherit the previous one’s choices.
The assistant says it lacks permission. The connection only has the permissions you approved when connecting. If your permissions have changed since, disconnect and connect again.
The connection ended by itself. A password change or reset ends every connection. Connect the assistant again from its settings.
