Notifications and how to manage them

What Kelomo reminds you about, how you choose your channels and quiet hours, and how an admin sets the notification defaults for the whole organisation.

Updated

Kelomo delivers notifications in the app (the bell icon), as push notifications and by email. You make your own choices under My settingsNotifications: open the user menu behind your avatar and pick the tab.

What Kelomo sends

Reminders are grouped by topic, and each can be switched on or off separately:

  • Day ready reminder – when your last working day is ready to review.
  • Weekly summary – on Fridays, if any unconfirmed days remain.
  • Decisions on your requests – when your day is approved or returned and when your leave, expense or trip request is decided.
  • HR reminders, Travel claim reminder and Task reminders.
  • For supervisors, also Manager summaries and Morning watch – the 07:30 morning summary of the team’s decision queue, who is on the clock and missing days.

You get at most one reminder a day, and days you have already confirmed are never nagged about. Your employer’s announcements arrive in the same notification centre on their own Announcements tab.

Your own notification settings

The Channels section holds the master switches, Push notifications and Email notifications. The Reminders section turns the topics on and off. Every change saves immediately.

In the Task communication section you choose how mentions and events on watched tasks reach you: Instantly, In the morning digest or No notifications, plus the digest’s time of day (Digest time).

Quiet hours holds push and email notifications during the window you choose (for example 22–7) and delivers them when it ends. Critical operational alerts, such as shift changes and cover gaps, are still delivered immediately.

Organisation defaults (admin)

An admin sets the baseline for the whole organisation under SettingsNotification defaults: the channels, the reminder topics, the digest schedule (Weekday and Time) and the quiet-hours default.

Inheritance works setting by setting. A setting a member has never changed keeps following the organisation default – including when the default changes later. As soon as the member changes a setting themselves, their choice wins for that one setting.

Reset your settings to the defaults

At the end of your own notification settings sits Reset to defaults. It removes all of your own choices at once, and your settings follow the organisation defaults again. Personal settings with no organisation default behind them – for example the task-communication delivery modes, the digest time and quiet hours – return to the system defaults.

If something goes wrong

You get no push or email notifications. Check the master switches in the Channels section and that the topic in question is on. Also check Quiet hours – during them, notifications are held and delivered only when the window ends.

A notification arrived during quiet hours. Critical operational alerts, such as shift changes, are always delivered immediately. Everything else waits for the window to end.

I changed an organisation default but it did not reach everyone. A default only reaches members who have not changed that setting themselves. Anyone who made their own choice keeps it.

An announcement did not arrive by email. The sender chooses the channels, but push and email travel only if your own notification settings allow them. The in-app notification always arrives – find announcements behind the bell icon.
