Which hours count as evening, night or weekend hours is an agreement matter and is stated in Kelomo once. Without a definition, work time is still recorded and the export file is still produced as usual, but it contains no premium hours and no error is raised — the number of premiums is zero.
Define the premium bands
Go to Settings → Pay & export → Time-based premiums. Create one band per premium:
- Name and code — the code reaches the payroll export as
premium:<code>. - Time window, for example 18:00–06:00. The window may cross midnight.
- Weekdays the band applies to.
- Coefficient, for example 15 %. The coefficient is display context: the euro amount is calculated by the payroll system from the pay code it maps to.
Bands are versioned: changing a window or a coefficient creates a new version from its effective date onwards, and weeks that are already locked do not change.
If two bands hit the same hour and only the larger one should be paid, give them the same exclusion group. Without a group, bands stack on top of each other.
Check before the first payroll run
The setup checklist reminds you about this when the company runs shift work or the punch clock and has no premium bands defined. The reminder disappears once the premiums have been defined.
