Settings → Working time → Recording policies decides how the workday comes to be: how complete it opens, whether the system may confirm it on the employee’s behalf, and what the employee is asked while recording.
The day’s starting point
Decides how pre-filled the day opens for the employee – empty, following the working-time model, or assembled from suggestions.
Self-learning day automation
The Automation level decides whether the system may learn an employee’s typical day and confirm ordinary days on their behalf:
- Off – not in use for anyone.
- Optional (employee opts in) – from their own settings.
- Recommended (on by default) – the employee can switch it off.
How the automation behaves from the employee’s point of view is described in Automation and auto-confirmation.
Supervisor acts on the employee’s behalf
Allows the supervisor and the administrator to view, edit and confirm their reports’ days on their behalf. A change made on someone’s behalf is always attributed to whoever made it.
Exceptions by staff group
The day’s starting point, changing the shift type, the automation and acting on the employee’s behalf can each have an exception per staff group. The exceptions are on the setting’s own card, on the Exceptions row: a group’s name opens its exception to edit or remove, and Add creates a new one. A group without an exception uses the card’s default.
Billability at entry time
Two choices decide what is asked about billing while recording:
- Billability on the entry – the employee chooses whether the hour is billable. Without the choice, billability follows the project and the entry type.
- Billable amount on the entry – the employee can record the contractual billable amount when it differs from the time worked.
